The weather is getting nice and I want to get out of the house…often. Whether it is something simple like a doctors appointment or something that takes most of the day like our #KidsInThe416 trips there is one thing I always bring with me, my diaper bag. My diaper bag is full of things that I find absolute necessities at this point in my parenting journey and also some fun things for me 🙂
I think 4 kids deep I know what I need with me. My list of must-haves conforms to MY kids needs and may not be what you need but none the less I want to show you what I can’t leave the house without.
What’s in my Diaper Bag
Change pad, Diapers & Wipes-I think this is pretty obvious when you have 2 kids in diapers and wipes get used to clean up absolutely EVERYTHING.
Bottles-2 Joovy Boob bottles + 1 Medela bottle to pump into. Aria gets a bottle and I ALWAYS carry a package of formula in case of emergencies
Medela Freestyle-The fact that this is portable, has a rechargeable battery and is hands-free means I am often passenger-ing (word?) in our car while pumping. MUST have!
Pacifiers-2 at all times for Cyrus
Change of clothes-2 kids always have a change of clothes because we all know how messy they can get
Chicco Baby Carrier-hubby likes to baby wear our newest addition and I don’t blame him at all.
Blankets & Swaddles– We always have our Lulujo muslin wraps and Turkish towels with us. The swaddle is used as a light blanket, a bug net when on walks, a breastfeeding (or pumping) cover or Aria’s cape when she wants to be a chevron Superwoman. The Turkish towel is amazing for impromptu picnics in the park.
Snacks-Always got to have a little snack here or there. Lately we have been bringing apples
My Stuff-Keys, wallet (actually 3 wallets), lip-gloss, mascara and phone…The most important stuff. And some days I also pack in my DSLR camera just for good measure
How Does She Fit It All In?
That’s a lot of stuff that HAVE to come with me everywhere I go, but my diaper bag fits all that stuff and more. You see I just got the beautiful Oemi Baby Bag in distressed grey leather. I have been drooling over this bag since I first saw it at a baby show right before Cyrus was born, I think I prayed it into fruition.
I never liked diaper bags, mostly because they were too feminine or childish and I still had to bring my purse with me anyways. This is why I love this bag. It is sleek and stylish and does not emit one iota of “diaper bag” vibes at all. Even my husband commented on how beautiful the bag is and scolded me when I didn’t put it away safely out of the kids reach.
With 5 interior pockets inside it is easy to organize all that you need easily with room to spare. The two outside pockets are where I keep my most important items-phone, bottles and pacifiers.
I can not even begin to tell you how many times I have spilled bottles into my bag. Most of the time I needed to throw the bag into the wash and it was never the same after that. The Oemi diaper bag has a stain resistant interior that just needs a quick wipe and I go on with my day.
Great addition to this diaper bag and probably the only giveaway that it is indeed a diaper bag in the deluxe change pad that comes with it. I like that this rolls up and has a Velcro close on it but I LOVE that my toddler fits on this no problem. When I am out and about I don’t want my little girls head on the dirty floor and this change pad covers all the bases.
The bag zips closed with a QUALITY zipper, no broken teeth on this baby. I really like that I can use the bag as a tote with the handles or put the shoulder strap on when I an carrying the toddler and car seat at the same time. Best part about the shoulder strap is that it is big enough to easily go around my stroller handle and I can have easy access to all of my babies essentials.

I really like how it is designed to separate and carry a lot of items. I have learned to carry not only wipes and formula I carry small plastic bags to store the used wipes and diapers.

I always sneak a little snack in there for my wife so she can have a good treat while running her butt off. Usually a Kashi bar, freeze-dried berries or some home-made wasabi peas… just a little something for calories and flavour to keep the family away from fast food snacking.
