Car Seat Safety 101

We are Lulujo Baby Brand Enthusiasts so we have a vast assortment of Lulujo products. This makes it especially helpful now that the weather is getting cooler and going out with the kids is no longer a “throw the jacket on and leave” situation. I am now aware of the proper way to use my car seat (I think) and our 2 youngest are no longer wearing bulky attire in the car. Sharing some car seat safety tips.

I always assumed you put the seat into your car, put the baby in and that was it. It wasn’t until I had Aria (3rd kid *sigh*) that I realized my kids were not actually safe at all. Buckle was at their belly buttons, loose, and the seat was not tethered to the car at all. Like a rolling time bomb and thankfully nothing horrible happened.

I now make sure my seats are in properly before every use and I do not hesitate for a second when I see someone not buckling in their kids safely to tell them. Not because I am a know it all, because I wish someone had told me! How many times have I posted pictures of the kids sleeping in their winter jackets in their car seats and not a peep….it’s important to peep people.

So I decided to show you how we are using our Lulujo swaddles and Childhood Blanket to ensure Cyrus is not only safe but warm as well.

Start off by dressing your baby in thin layers. Think pants, socks, onesie and long sleeve shirt. I also put a hat on him. Place baby in the car seat and ensure they are properly buckled in.
Than take a Lulujo Swaddle that has been folded in half and use it to tightly cover the lower part of your baby. I like to tuck all the edges under my son so that that they stay put.
I take another swaddle and try and get the torso, arms and legs covered with this. My son still flails his hands and I don’t want him to throw off his blankets, this ensures that.
If it is particularily chilly I add an optional layer of my Turkish Towel. I really like the size of the towels so I always try to keep it in the car in case of emergencies.
Lastly we go in with the Childhood Blanket from Lulujo Baby. This is the newest release from Lulujo’s line and I am enamoured with it.

The best thing about keeping your baby warm with layers is that you can accommodate any change of temperature by simply removing or adding another blanket.
